Guest Arrival

We recommend flying in by Sunday the 25th to settle in and enjoy the island before the big day. That said, feel free to arrive earlier or extend your stay after — it's the Dominican Republic, why not make a vacation out of it? Just be there on the 26th.

Our Story

From first date to forever
Shannen and David proposing in Italy

It started with a spark...

What began as two people who couldn't stop talking turned into late nights, spontaneous adventures, and a love that just kept growing. From exploring Italy together to quiet moments that felt like everything — we knew this was it.

Now we're taking the next step, and we want you there when we do.

Book Early October is off-peak season in the DR, which means better rates and fewer crowds. That said, availability at the best spots can still fill up — we recommend booking sooner rather than later to lock in your first choice.

Frequently Asked

What's the dress code?
Tropical elegance. Think resort chic — lightweight suits or dress shirts for men, flowy dresses for women. Leave the stilettos at home — the ceremony is on the beach. Embrace linen, light colors, and breathable fabrics.
Do I need a passport?
Yes. A valid passport is required to enter the Dominican Republic. Make sure it doesn't expire within 6 months of your travel date. If you don't have one yet, apply ASAP — processing can take 8–12 weeks.
What airport should I fly into?
Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata (POP). It's about a 20-minute drive to Cabarete. Some flights also go through Santiago (STI) which is about an hour away.
Are accommodations provided?
Accommodations for the wedding party are provided at a private villa. All other guests are responsible for booking their own lodging — check our "Where to Stay" section above for our curated recommendations at every price point.
Can I bring a plus one?
We'd love to host everyone, but due to the destination wedding format, we're keeping the guest list intimate. If your invitation includes a plus one, it will be noted. If you have questions, reach out to us directly.
What will the weather be like?
Late October in the DR is warm and tropical — expect temperatures around 80–85°F (27–30°C) with a chance of brief afternoon rain showers. Pack sunscreen, a hat, and something light for cooler evenings.
Is it safe?
Cabarete is a well-established tourist town with a strong expat community. As with any travel destination, use common sense — don't flash expensive jewelry, be aware of your surroundings, and stick to well-traveled areas at night. You'll feel right at home.
What currency is used?
The Dominican Peso (DOP), but US dollars are widely accepted in tourist areas. Most restaurants and hotels take credit cards. ATMs are available in Cabarete.
When should I book flights and hotels?
As soon as possible. October is a popular travel month, and prices go up the longer you wait. We recommend booking within a few weeks of your RSVP.

Gifts & Registry

Your presence in the Dominican Republic is the greatest gift we could ask for. Seriously — you're flying to a different country to watch us get married. That's incredible.

That said, if you're feeling generous...

We've set up a small registry and honeymoon fund for those who'd like to contribute. No pressure at all.
